Pwnc which in Welsh translates to 'subject' was an independent magazine which aimed to highlight the positives in Newport and local surrounding areas. Set up by a trio of copy editors Josh Knapman, Dan Barnes, James Briscoe and designed by myself, Pwnc acted as a platform to promote local events and information, as well as being a learning curve.
I created this typeface by hand using ink and a rough paint brush to compliment the logo and appeal to a young generation.
I was also involved with the social media promotion of the brand. On the day of announcing the launch of the mag we drip fed posts with photographs every half hour to keep the audience engaged and excited. We used the hashtag 'pwncisborn' for the launch and set up the campaign as if a baby was being born.
