Just another Christmas blog post

Firstly, I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas. I haven't blogged in such a long time which seems ridiculous as I suppose I do actually have time on my hands, although art foundation has been really busy, but I just spend a lot of my time procrastinating because I'm a really lazy person. Lots has gone on since I last blogged, but I'm going to have trouble naming it all, but the main thing is I handed in the first stage of my Art foundation course, and it's been marked and I passed and had really good feedback, so I was very very happy :)  I've also been a major scrooge this year and have hated everything about the build up to Christmas, mainly due to lack of money and lack of Christmas spirit, and actually realizing how commercialized Christmas is these days. But here it is, my Christmas blog post.

 1. Our dinner table looking pretty fly if you don't mind me saying, I like Christmas because It's the only time we eat at the dinner table, and all together as a family.

2. My dad made me heart shaped cabbage to try and encourage me to eat my greens because of my iron levels, it worked!

3. My nan and my sister having a little pose, I don't have many pictures of actual people because I wanted to take pictures of the little details of Christmas this year, so left my mum to take all the typical family pictures on her camera.

4. The Christmas cake that me, my mum and my sister made. I didn't eat any because Christmas cake is everything that's wrong in a cake: Marzipan, fruit, horrible icing. Bleurghhhh. We actually baked so many cakes, and have eaten hardly any, we do it every year!

5. (PERSONAL RAMBLINGS BEWARE) I don't mean to make this an emotional rant blog post, but Christmas always feels a bit empty without this guy. And it's always at Christmas that I notice it the most, because Christmases with him were the best, he had such a great sense of humor and I'd always look forward to seeing him. Christmas would always be different, he'd always be well for it and his Alzheimers always seemed better. I had to include him in this post because he's important and I always remember the time this photo was taken as it was the last Christmas we had together and it was the best! I wish he was here to see everything that's going on in my life, and know he'd be so interested in the art course I'm doing :(

6 & 7.  I had lovely presents off everyone, most of these are off 'santa', a few of the highlights for me are the Moomin, Promarkers, Tardis and food hamper which were all off my mum and dad. I had joked around with my mum saying that all I actually wanted for Christmas was food. Well i wasn't actually joking, and she did me a little food hamper! It was wrapped up lovely and everything. An unexpected present was a ticket to see Ghost the Musical with my sister, I literally had no idea and it was such a lovely surprise!

8 & 9. What really made my Christmas was receiving this photo album/scrapbook off my mum, she was supposed to give it to me for my 18th birthday but it never got finished, and she took the time to finish it for me and I almost cried it's so lovely. I could feel myself welling up! It's in order from when I was born to present day and it's definitely the best gift I've ever had :)

10 & 11. Christmas isn't Christmas without shoes, and my sister picked these up for me on boxing day in the Schuh sale. I've wanted them for the whole of 2012, and have kept popping into Schuh (Even in Dublin) to just look at them and make up my mind whether to pay £55 for them. Well they came down to £35 in the sale, so she picked them up for me. I'm currently in that stage of shoe buying where I longingly stare at the shoes for a while and take in their beauty. I feel the need to leave the house and go somewhere just so I can wear them.

Overall it was a good Christmas, It was nice to experience it with new people, and also have my first university Christmas. Next up will be a 2012 year review, because lots of good things have gone on this year.

P.S I forgot to mention that I also had Mumford & Sons tickets for Christmas off my parents, and I saw them on the 13th December, and It was the best gig of my life and the best moment in the world :3
