Standing in the hall of fame

Its been quite a busy old week even though I haven't been at work experience, I've been trying to sort everything out for university and just generally stressing out about my lack of money. This week I am officially going to send off my registration for self-employment, which I filled out today! So soon I will officially be a freelance Graphic Designer, which is scary stuff! Everything's happening now, 2012 has been a crazy year for me and now I can add 'Becoming a Freelancer' to the list of good things that have happened graphics-wise. Here are some pictures to sum up my week, even though It's not quite over:

It was my sister's birthday September 5th but I totally forgot to post a picture of the cake we had made for her! It was extremely yummy, I really wish I could make cakes, I'd have so much fun!

I filled in my HMRC self-employment registration form today which I've been delaying for quite a while. I have no idea what happens when I send it off, I'm guessing it'll be followed by more forms and confusing information about tax and national insurance. It's so scary, When this year started I was still in college and my A levels were still ongoing and my results determined my future, but now I'm soon to become a freelance graphic designer, I don't feel grown up enough! I'm going to continue to work at the place where I did work experience as they want me to come back for paid work, I'll be doing this on the side of uni, It'll be great to get some money coming in especially by doing what I love doing. Even though I've got where I wanted I'm not where I want to be, and I'm not going to let the fact that I have this job change my aspirations, because I still know very little about graphic design and have a lot to learn and lots to progress in!

I start my art foundation course in uni on the 17th for an induction, and then I enroll on the 21st, Freshers starts on the 15th! I'm currently drowning in art supplies and have no idea how I'm going to transport them up to uni, and also fit on the bus with an A1 portfolio (It's seriously not going to happen). This is only half of the stuff I have at the moment, the rest I need to buy, which includes sketchbooks, card, paints etc. Its all been very expensive as I don't get a grant or any funding, so its been tricky, I cannot wait to have some money.

Even though I'm not really leaving the A10sm team they bought me these lovely presents to thank me for everything I've done whilst I've been on work experience which was really kind of them. They've been a lovely team to work with and we've had countless laughs, drunken antics, lots of meals where we've been too full to move and some great sing alongs in the office, it really has been too fun considering it's a workplace! I had this lovely Dippy Egg card which is by a local illustrator, Lucy Daniels. I actually follow her work on Facebook etc, check out her stuff! A Cath Kidston make up bag, which I'm going to use as a pencil case for uni, a Cath Kidston pocket mirror and the lovely necklace in the image below which I  think might be from Etsy. They're all things I would've bought myself!

As my sister knew I was sad that I didn't get to meet Danny O'donoghue and they both did when I got home on Monday night there was a little gift bag waiting for me and in it was this CD and a picture of Sarah and Danny in the airport, I love my sisters to bits, and it's little thoughtful things like this that I love about them. I love The Script, they're my second favorite band, I do prefer 'Science & Faith' more than this album, but I need to give it chance. What I do really like though is how The Script produce different albums every time and also the use of piano in this album. Standing in the hall of fame, and the world's gonna know your name!

On Sunday (I think) I changed my blog design, I always get fed up of the designs, and I'll soon get fed up of this one, It usually depends on the weather or my mood. But at the moment I'm happy with this one. I added a new header, photo, about section,Titles and some social media buttons which I made. My blog still doesn't look as extravagant as I'd like it to look, but I'm not a very serious Blogger.

Thanks for reading guys, The next time i post I may be a Fresher!
