What I'm listening to this week:

So I haven't done this for a while, but recently there has been a lot of pretty epic songs I've discovered and really loved, So here's what I'm listening to this week, as well as a crazy amount of songs on Spotify, but the main ones:

I discovered Of Monsters And Men accidentally the other week, I didn't know they had a song in the charts and loved 'Little Talks' when i first heard it. If you haven't heard of them they're six-pieces indie/folk band from Iceland. The lead singers voice is almost identical to Ellie Goulding's, but I just love the jolly style of 'Little Talks', especially the numerous chantings of 'Hey!' along with the brass instruments. The music video to their hit song is also really creatively put together.

If you don't know my love for Mumford & Sons then you've been reading the wrong blog, any one of my friends/family will tell you that I am absoloutely in love with this band, and have been ever since I heard 'The Cave' back in 2009. I became extremely ecstatic when I realized they were touring and playing in Cardiff, ten minutes away from where I live. But then reality soon set in that I was going to be on holiday when they were touring. I was distraught, and cried my eyes out whilst being alone in my house, playing Sigh no more on my guitar, It was one of the saddest fan moments ever. But now, After 'Sigh no more' getting me through 2 years of college morning bus journeys, And totally succeeding, Babel is soon to be released next month. I was surprised to hear 'I will wait' when it was first released as their first single, because I already knew it! But I knew it as 'Untitled'. Anyway, I seriously love this song and them, and totally appreciate them for waiting so long to release Babel, because as this song shows, It's going to be worth it. I've even converted my sister into loving a bit of good old Mumford after making her listen to this!

How many roads must a man walk down, before you call him a man? How many seas must the white dove sail, before she sleeps in the sand? I had a bit of a Bob Dylan weekend, I must say. I've been feeling a bit 'folky' this past week, probably has something with me getting excited for my trip to Dublin in a few days!
I know Bob Dylan isn't a new discovery, but I wanted to mention him because his music is beautiful, It's simple, but truly amazing. I think my dad used to play me some Bob Dylan songs on guitar before i went to sleep when I was little, because i recognize most of them. I like that me and my dad share music taste. My favourite Bob Dylan songs are 'Blowin' in the wind', 'It Ain't me babe' and 'Don't think twice it's alright'. Three great songs.
If you're thinking "Woah, that artwork is really beautiful." then that's exactly what I thought when I discovered it. You should definitely check out Denise Esposito's work, which includes lots of portraits similar to this of various celebrities, and just some really beautiful portraits in general. This paragraph has been full of the word beautiful.

These are the main artists/musicians I've been listening to this week, some others include Jessie Ware,Ben Howard (As usual), Jake Bugg, Two door cinema club (Their new album is fantastic!) and lots and lots more.
I'd like to just take a moment also, to just quickly say, that as much as I love Green Day, their new song sucks. I know It's cliche to say, "Their old stuff is best." But It's true. Really not feeling the style of 'Kill The DJ'.
If anyone's actually reading this, What have your musical influences been this week?
