Last couple of days in photos

So whenever I take photos I never have chance to blog about them in the same day, which means I end up having to do a collection of whats gone on in the last couple of days...

On Saturday I went to Porthcawl with my parents and nan, we took her on a little day trip because she loves Porthcawl, Me and my dad took a walk down to Rest Bay which is a small beach where the surfers tend to go and came across this turtle which someone had made out of pebbles. I couldn't resist adding a face on Photoshop.

We ended up pushing my nan around in a wheelchair because she walks so slow, She really enjoyed herself and I enjoyed spending some proper time with her.

My nan also gave me this ring which I said I liked when I was up her house the other day and then she muttered to my mum "That's Lauren's okay." meaning that when she died it would be the ring I'd have. She ended up giving it to me when we went to Porthcawl. It's silver and has a white opal stone in it which glitters in different lights, almost in a glow in the dark kind of way! I thought I'd lost it yesterday and was close to tears and then I saw it on my bedside table!

I've been in the drawing mood these last couple of days, So i decided to put pen to paper, because I don't like drawing in pencil much. They're pretty rubbish, but I need to practice because I'm worried that when I go to uni I'll be the only one struggling with the drawing aspect. The drawing on the left was the view when I was sat having a drink in Rest Bay, and the other drawing is a dodgy looking self portrait where I tried to do a continuous line drawing, which i must say I enjoy quite a lot. There's no way I'd ever be able to draw realistic drawings, so for now I might as well just draw in a shitty 'abstract' looking way haha.

Yesterday (August 12th) Was the anniversary of one of my close friends, Louis, who passed away in 2008. We do something every year for the anniversary, whether it be going to someones house or going for a meal. We set of a Chinese lantern every year. This year we went to Caerleon amphitheater which is where the Roman remains are where I live, We chose it because we went there on a sunny day and had the best time on the summer that Louis died, It's really the place which holds the last memories all together with Louis.  This year is also the last year all of us will be together, because of uni. So we visited the crematorium, set off two Chinese lanterns, lit candles, sang to UB40 - Red,red wine (he loved that song) and later went for a pint. It was a really lovely day, And I'm glad I didn't spend it alone, moping. We went to so much trouble to buy these lanterns, The Works was the only place that we found that sold them, we got to the till... "You have to be 21 sorry." I don't even think that's true, as at the age of 18 you can buy petrol, alcohol, fireworks etc. So we had to ask some random couple to buy them for us.

The candles that we lit in the amphitheater

The group of us, Arranged candles spelling out Louis' initials so it looked like less of a Pagan ritual, and a cactus which we planted at the crematorium which we thought would be funny because Louis had the spikiest hair, which was gelled so much it actually hurt. I remember in form he'd always rub his hair against my face and it would kill.

Today I've had a totally lazy day, except for a two hour driving lesson which started at HALF 7. Way too early...
I'm making it my goal to learn Bon Iver- I can't make you love me on piano, because I think It's a truly beautiful song, which was almost made for Bon Iver to sing (Sorry Bonnie Raitt & Prince).
Tomorrow is the final day before my driving test, and then there's one day until A Level Results!
I'm so nervous.
